Job summary

Amentum is hiring a Fire Protection Engineer to integrate safety and health requirements into complex project planning and operations at the Hanford Waste Treatment Plant. You will perform risk assessments, lead meetings, and monitor performance to reduce fire and life-safety risks.

The role reports to the S&H Fire Protection Manager and focuses on implementing the FPP during maintenance and operations, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement across facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field, or NICET II certification.
• Minimum 2 years of professional, relevant experience.
• Experience developing and administering a Fire Protection Program (FPP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements the WTP Fire Protection Program (FPP) and coordinates implementation and inspections.
• Develops, reviews, and implements FPP documents.
• Identifies gaps and implements improvements to the FPP.
• Reviews and approves compensatory measures for FPS and LSS impairments.
• Performs FP audits and inspections and conducts self-assessments.
• Maintains understanding of FPP requirements and implementation mechanisms.
