Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking an experienced Operations Manager in Texas to lead the inspection, testing, maintenance, service, and installation of fire alarm, fire sprinkler, and fire suppression systems. The role focuses on operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and profitability across service lines.

You will hire, coach, and develop field teams, manage budgeting, and ensure compliance with safety codes while partnering with Account Managers to strengthen customer relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or equivalent work related experience.
• 5+ years of management experience in a related field.
• Direct experience in fire protection operations (fire alarm, fire sprinkler, fire suppression).
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing field service teams, installers, inspectors, fitters, and remote employees preferred.
• Industry certifications such as FAL, FEL, FEL-K, NICET Fire Sprinkler are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of inspections, testing, maintenance, service, and installation of fire protection systems.
• Ensure quote requests, inspections, and service activities are completed accurately and timely.
• Provide initial and ongoing training for field teams and customer service best practices.
• Manage customer concerns, billing issues, and disputes.
• Hire, onboard, coach, and develop employees; manage remote staff and field personnel.
• Meet with customers regularly to gather feedback and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with Account Managers to resolve operational issues and strengthen relationships.
• Monitor performance metrics and report to leadership; ensure compliance with codes.
