Job summary

gpac is seeking a Fire Protection Estimator to prepare accurate cost estimates and bid proposals for fire protection systems on commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. You will work with project teams, vendors, and clients to develop competitive estimates during preconstruction and bidding.

The role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of fire protection systems, and the ability to manage multiple bid opportunities while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years estimating experience in fire protection, mechanical, construction, or related trade.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specs, and bid procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Review project specs, drawings, addenda, and contract documents to determine scope.
• Develop quantity takeoffs and conceptual system layouts for fire protection projects.
• Prepare bid proposals, RFIs, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with customers, consultants, and vendors throughout estimating process.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.
• Support pre-award activities including client presentations and project planning.
