Job summary

Marmic Fire and Safety is seeking an experienced Estimator to accurately assess costs for fire protection and safety projects. You will prepare detailed estimates, analyze requirements, and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure bids are competitive and aligned with specifications.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in cost estimation within fire protection, proficient in estimation software, and strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in cost estimation, preferably in fire protection or construction.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, materials, and installation processes.
• Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for fire protection and safety projects including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
• Analyze project blueprints, specs, and documentation to determine scope and requirements.
• Conduct site visits to identify cost factors and risks.
• Prepare and submit bids and proposals meeting client specs.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to refine estimates.
• Negotiate with vendors and subcontractors to secure favorable pricing.
• Integrate subcontractor and vendor costs into overall estimates.
• Monitor project costs and provide variance analyses and cost-control recommendations.
• Prepare cost reports and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
• Stay current with industry trends and promote best estimating practices.
