Job summary

IAP World Services, an Intrepid Global Solutions company, seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to design, analyze, and certify fire protection and life safety systems for high-security facilities. You will apply NFPA and UFC standards, review designs, and provide engineering judgment to project teams and leadership.

The role requires a PE license and 5+ years of experience in fire protection for government or secure facilities, supporting risk assessments and emergency planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or closely related field.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a fire protection engineer.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, and evaluate fire protection and life safety systems.
• Perform fire hazard analyses, life safety assessments, and code compliance reviews.
• Apply NFPA, IBC, UFC, UFC, and agency-specific requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and engineering judgment to project teams and leadership.
• Review construction documents, shop drawings, and submittals for compliance.
• Conduct field inspections, testing, and acceptance of fire protection systems.
• Support risk assessments for mission-critical facilities.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs.
• Prepare technical reports, design analyses, and recommendations.
• Support emergency planning and continuity of operations initiatives.
