Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of CAD and drafting 3D/4D software and practices.
• Engineering design principles at an expert level.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Expert knowledge of federal, state and local regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection engineering designs, including water supply, hydraulics, sprinklers, suppression, pumps and alarms.
• Act as QFPE on federal projects for life safety, fire suppression and alarm design.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA, UFC and local regulations; sign off on designs.
• Create fire protection and life safety engineering designs/evaluations; egress analysis and related tasks.
• Evaluate systems using HydraCAD or HydraCALC as required.
• Collaborate with sales to develop proposals in response to RFPs; review proposals for compliance.
• Meet with clients to review design needs and potential future projects.
• Conduct site assessments to ensure designs align with standards and local requirements.
• Attend conferences to enhance visibility of products/services.
