Job summary

Larson Design Group is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer in the United States to work on multi-discipline building design projects for commercial and government facilities. The role involves proposal work, complete system design, site evaluations, and testing/commissioning of fire protection systems.

The candidate should have a PE, 5+ years of experience (DoD preferred), and be proficient in Revit and AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Fire Protection or related field from ABET-accredited program.
• At least 5 years of DoD-related experience preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) required; QFPE preferred.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Experience with design calculations, specs, and cost estimates.

Responsibilities

• Participates in design, construction, and testing/commissioning of fire protection systems.
• Leads code analysis, life safety and system design for automatic fire alarm and suppression.
• Performs FPE duties on Federal projects per UFC 3-600-01.
• Develops construction documents and delivers projects to completion.
• Mentors engineers and interns, supporting technical growth.
• Mentors engineers and interns, promoting quality and technical growth.
