CDM Smith is seeking a talented Fire Protection Engineer to join our team. You will develop comprehensive fire protection designs for federal and local projects and help ensure life safety and regulatory compliance.

Based in a hybrid work environment, you may work from our offices in Boston, MA or other listed locations, collaborating with sales and project teams to prepare proposals, conduct site assessments, and mentor junior staff while delivering world-class solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Architectural or Chemical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection designs including water supply and hydraulics for sprinkler systems.
• Act as QFPE for federal projects including life safety and fire alarm analysis.
• Review designs for compliance with NFPA, UFC and local regs and sign off.
• Collaborate with sales to prepare proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Perform site assessments to ensure alignment with industry standards and local requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and supervise engineers on project work.
