Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas. You will act as the subject matter expert on fire and life safety, ensuring alignment with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards throughout design, reviews, and inspections.

You will lead project coordination, submittal reviews, and acceptance testing, while advising government personnel and project teams on fire protection features and compliance strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• Five+ years of fire protection engineering experience with relevant codes.
• PE license required; USACE or federal project experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• Experience in QA, commissioning, testing and submittal reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop fire protection design approaches compliant with UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA.
• Review plans, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure project milestones.
• Perform reviews during pre-construction to post-construction phases.
• Inspect sites and ensure adherence to project documents and contracts.
• Provide guidance on facility design and fire protection systems.
• Lead technical review of submittals and RFIs; address deficiencies.
