Job summary

Evergreen Talent Partners in Manhattan is seeking a Fire Protection and Plumbing Engineer to join our growing MEP team. You will design sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings in NYC, and coordinate with mechanical and electrical teams.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's in mechanical or fire protection engineering, 4–5+ years of experience, strong NFPA knowledge, and hands-on Revit/AutoCAD skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, or related field.
• 4–5+ years of fire protection/plumbing design experience.
• Solid knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20.
• Hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with hydraulic calculation software.
• Ability to work quickly on multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Design sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings in NYC.
• Design domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas piping systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and size fire protection and plumbing systems.
• Produce construction drawings in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Ensure designs meet NFPA standards, NYC Building Code, NYC Plumbing Code, and FDNY requirements.
• Coordinate with the mechanical and electrical teams on multiple projects.

What You'll Do

Design sprinkler, standpipe, and fire pump systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings in NYC

Design domestic water, sanitary, storm, and gas piping systems

Perform hydraulic calculations and size fire protection and plumbing systems

Produce clear, accurate construction drawings in Revit and AutoCAD

Make sure designs meet NFPA standards, the NYC Building Code, NYC Plumbing Code, and FDNY requirements

Coordinate with the mechanical and electrical teams on multiple projects at once

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Fire Protection, or a related engineering field

4 to 5+ years of fire protection and/or plumbing design experience with an MEP consulting firm

Solid working knowledge of NFPA 13, 14, and 20

Hands-on experience with Revit and AutoCAD

Familiarity with hydraulic calculation software

Someone who works quickly and accurately, can handle several projects at once, and takes pride in turning out quality drawings

Nice to Have

EIT, FE, or NICET certification

Experience with NYC DOB and FDNY filings
