Job summary

RESPEC in Anchorage, Alaska, is seeking a Fire Protection EIT to join our engineering team on onsite projects. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining fire protection systems across clients’ facilities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams in Alaska and beyond.

The ideal candidate will have an ABET-accredited degree, FE/EIT eligibility, and at least 2 years' experience in fire protection engineering, with knowledge of codes, design software, and strong communication

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in fire protection engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or a related field, from an ABET-accredited program.
Passed the FE exam, and eligible to apply for EIT certification through the Alaska State Board...
Minimum of 2 years of experience in fire protection engineering or a related field.
Knowledge of fire safety codes and regulations.
Experience in fire protection design software and tools
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel)
Developed technical writing and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to travel to other locations within Alaska as needed for client/project needs.

Responsibilities

Works on multiple projects simultaneously, proactively collaborating with team members and clients to resolve technical challenges
Document fire protection design requirements in engineering reports and feasibility studies.
Supports other market sectors on design projects as workload dictates
Prepares clear and concise written communications and participate in client and team meetings
Conducts site visits across Alaska to review and document facilities and project progress
Assist in designing fire suppression systems, fire detection and alarm systems, and smoke control systems.
Provide construction support, review submittals, and conduct acceptance testing.
Support senior engineers in project planning and execution.
