Job summary
F.E. Moran Group of Companies in Champaign, IL is seeking a Fire Protection Systems Designer to join our dynamic team. You will design fire protection systems and produce code-compliant drawings, coordinating with other trades to ensure successful installations.
The ideal candidate has experience with Hydratec, AutoSprink or AutoCAD, a Mechanical Engineering degree or NICET certification, and strong hydraulic calculation skills, reading blueprints, and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; NICET certification.
- Experience using fire protection design software (Hydratec, AutoSprink, AutoCAD).
- Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and building codes.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and hydraulic calculations.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
Responsibilities
- Prepare code-compliant fire protection system designs within project timeframes.
- Produce hydraulic calculations and sprinkler drawings for various projects.
- Coordinate pipe and sprinkler locations with building components and trades.
