F.E. Moran Group of Companies in Northbrook, IL is seeking an experienced Fire Protection Systems Designer to join our upgraded Northbrook office. Grow with a leading team while applying your design skills across diverse projects.

You will use Hydratec, AutoSprink, or AutoCAD to create code-compliant designs, perform hydraulic calculations, and coordinate layouts with other trades. NICET certification and a Mechanical Engineering background are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience using fire protection design software (Hydratec, AutoSprink, or AutoCAD) and understanding NFPA codes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience; NICET III/IV is a plus.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with hydraulic calculation experience.
• Able to read construction blueprints and coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection system designs to complete successful installations.
• Prepare code-compliant designs within project timeframes.
• Produce sprinkler design drawings and perform hydraulic calculations.
• Layout pipe and sprinkler locations with building components and other trades.
