Job summary

F.E. Moran Group of Companies in Valparaiso, IN is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Designer to ensure code-compliant life safety systems and quality outcomes for customers.

You will produce drawings using NFPA standards, coordinate with sales and project teams, and support project delivery across locations. The role requires NICET II/III certification in Alarm Design, strong AutoCAD/VESDA experience, and the ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in Fire Alarm, Clean Agent, Pre-Action Detection, AutoCAD, and VESDA; learn and comply with NFPA standards and other applicable federal, state, and local codes
• NICET II or NICET III certification in Alarm Design
• Analytical thinker with mathematical aptitude; strong attention to detail; ability to read and understand construction blueprints
• Adaptable: quickly adjusts to changing environments and manages priorities under time constraints

Responsibilities

• Keep to code: Complete fire alarm drawings utilizing current NFPS standards, project specifications, manufacture recommendations, and best practices from the industry
• Prepare: Accurately layout, design, and render code compliant life safety alarm systems within stipulated timeframes
• Coordinate: Collaborate with Sales, Project Managers, and technical staff to interpret project specifications
