Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design Fire Protection Systems for various projects. The role uses AutoCAD/HydraCAD to create layouts and performs hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

The candidate will design fire protection systems, read and interpret contract documents, and develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction. BIM modeling and field surveying are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Fire Protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred.
• AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Hydratec experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Excellent communicator and well organized.
• Regular and reliable attendance; ability to work long hours/weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret contract drawings and specs across disciplines.
• Plan, coordinate, and present to individuals and groups.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
• Engage in BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Provide fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.
• Other duties as assigned.
