Job summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer to design layouts and perform hydraulic calculations using AutoCAD/HydraCAD, AutoSprink and Revit.

The role involves BIM modeling, field surveying, and coordinating between trades to deliver cohesive fire protection solutions. The candidate should have a technical or business degree, strong analytical skills, and the ability to travel to client sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and mathematical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of hydraulic calculations and reading blueprints.
• Ability to adapt to changing environment and manage priorities under time constraints.
• Flexible to travel to client sites and maintain regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents and drawings.
• Plan, write, and present to individuals and groups.
• Compute hydraulic calculations and project costs.
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, AutoSprink and Revit.
• Perform BIM modeling and field surveying.
• Prepare fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.
• Fulfill other duties as assigned.
