Job summary

Above Group seeks a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to support the Fire Protection Engineering team in designing fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety systems. The intern will work toward a bachelor’s or master’s degree in an ABET-accredited program and contribute to quality designs for client projects.

Remote position with occasional site travel and hybrid options in Melbourne, FL, Ellicott City, MD, or Pittsburgh, PA.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s in fire protection engineering (ABET-accredited).
• Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
• Develop knowledge in fire suppression, fire alarm, and life safety design.

Responsibilities

• Review building and fire codes for each project.
• Create CAD drawings and calculations under supervision.
• Develop design criteria and system designs from concept to construction.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to translate vision into drawings.
