Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Construction Manager to lead field installation projects focused on fire alarm work in commercial environments.

You will coach technicians, coordinate materials, monitor project financials, and maintain safety and quality on active jobs, visiting sites regularly to keep work moving safely and efficiently.

This hands-on leadership role requires strong communication, 5–10 years of experience, and a track record of delivering complex fire protection projects.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of management experience in fire alarm installation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with Excel and other Microsoft products.
• Proficient with Windows operating systems (Windows 7/XP/NT/2000).
• Ability to lead teams and prioritize in a fast-paced construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of construction installation projects from start to completion.
• Coach and mentor technicians and apprentices to support quality and team development.
• Order materials and equipment needed for active projects and help maintain schedule alignment.
• Monitor financial performance for each project and provide accurate status updates during WIP meetings.
• Conduct regular job site safety walkthroughs, EHS evaluations, and accident investigations.
• Attend construction meetings and interface with end-users, architects, and general contractors.
