Job summary

Griffin Memorial Hospital seeks a Fire Prevention & Safety Officer to inspect facilities, enforce fire safety laws, and provide security for staff and visitors. The role requires patrolling premises, identifying hazards, and assisting others to prevent incidents.

Two full-time shifts are available: 6:30am–5:00pm and 1:00pm–11:30pm. Annualized pay is listed as hourly rates of $14.18 and $15.14, respectively, with potential for routine overtime and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Level I: No education or experience required.
• Level II: Basic security and/or firefighter course plus 2 years in security or fire prevention.

Responsibilities

Fire Prevention & Safety Officer

About the Position : Incumbents are assigned responsibilities, involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security at Griffin Memorial Hospital. Typical work duties may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards; providing assistance to employees or visitors; directing traffic; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.

This is a Full-time shift position

2 positions available! Opening 1: 6:30am to 5:00pm

Opening 2: 1:00pm to 11:30pm

Annual Salary: Level I : $14.18/hourly

Level II : $15.14/hourly

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Level I: No requisite education and experience are required for consideration.

Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work

Special Requirements:

Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 60 pounds occasionally, and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.

Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver's license.
