Job summary

The County of Riverside’s Fire Department seeks a Supervising Fire Marshal for the Fire Protection Contract Services Division in Perris. This role supervises multiple fire prevention programs, reviews plans, and enforces code compliance across jurisdictions.

Strong leadership and analytical skills are essential. Preferred candidates will have fire inspection experience, Plan Examiner coursework, and familiarity with permit systems; Penal Code 832 certification is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in public sector fire plan review and fire inspections.
• Preference for Fire Inspector I & II and Plans Examiner coursework.
• Penal Code 832 Certificate highly desirable.
• Experience with permit management systems and MS Excel/PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate fire prevention programs and staffing.
• Review plans for conformance with fire and life-safety codes.
• Develop goals, work plans, and policy procedures for the unit.
• Serve as liaison with other agencies and provide technical guidance.
• Prepare reports and maintain program documentation.
