Job summary

San Bernardino County Fire Protection District, Office of the Fire Marshal is seeking Fire Plans Examiners who assess and develop activities in planning and engineering related to fire protection. You will coordinate complex plan reviews for new construction and tenant improvements, reading plans, and ensuring compliance with fire codes.

The role requires CSFM Fire Plans Examiner certifications and experience in fire prevention inspections.

Qualifications

CSFM Fire Plans Examiner 1A, 1B and 1C certificates or equivalent.
Two (2) years of paid work experience performing fire prevention work through field inspections.
Fifteen (15) semester units in Fire Science, Fire Safety, Building Inspection Technology, Engineering, Architecture or related fields; college accreditation required.

Responsibilities

Assess, develop, and execute activities in planning and engineering for fire protection.
Coordinate complex new construction and tenant improvement plan reviews; read and interpret building plans and blueprints.
Verify construction and fire protection system plans for compliance with fire codes.
