Job summary

Eastside Fire & Rescue seeks a Deputy Fire Marshal – Plans Reviewer to perform technical fire and life safety plan reviews for development projects. You will coordinate with municipal departments, inspect sites, and provide guidance on permit processes and code requirements.

The role requires ICC certifications or intent to obtain within one year, plus several years of related experience. WSDOT license and EVIP/CPR certifications are needed; strong multitasking and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree or higher in Fire Prevention, Fire Science, Fire Protection Engineering, Building Construction, or related field preferred.
• ICC Fire Inspector I certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• ICC Fire Plans Examiner certification or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Minimum of two years of experience in plans review, fire prevention or related field preferred.
• Experience with permit processing and electronic permitting systems preferred.
• Washington driver's license with good driving record and EVIP certification.
• CPR and Basic First Aid certification.

Responsibilities

• Conduct fire prevention and plans review services including plan review and inspections.
• Coordinate with city/county departments, contractors, developers, architects, engineers and the public.
• Educate customers on permit processes and fire code requirements.
• Manage multiple projects to ensure timely review completion.
• Maintain records of inspections, permits, plan reviews and related documentation.
