Job summary

JLL is seeking a Fire Life Safety Technician for on-site work in Portland, OR. The role focuses on inspecting fire extinguishers, maintaining fire pumps, and supporting FLS systems to uphold safety standards.

The candidate will perform audits, maintain records, and stay current with NFPA 20 and related regulations. Requires 5+ years in facility/plant maintenance, extinguisher inspections, and appropriate certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 5+ years of experience in facility/plant engineering maintenance.
• Portable fire extinguisher inspections and recharge experience.
• Fire Pump Inspector Certification and NFPA 20 Certification required.
• Experience in fire and life safety management with inspections and audits.
• Ability to identify hazards and assess risk; strong organization.

Responsibilities

• Inspect fire extinguishers monthly and ensure proper functioning.
• Conduct maintenance checks and refill/replace extinguishers as needed.
• Run and test fire pumps; monitor pressure and water flow.
• Maintain records of inspections, tests, and maintenance.
• Inspect alarms, sensors, and fire detection devices.
• Assist in installation, repair, and troubleshooting of suppression systems.
• Coordinate and execute fire drills and evacuations.
• Support during fire incidents, following safety protocols.
• Stay updated with NFPA and industry standards.
