Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Fire Alarm Service Technician to respond to service calls, diagnose issues, and complete service and repair work on electronic fire alarm systems at customer sites in the Johnson City, TN area. This on-site role requires strong troubleshooting skills, clear communication with customers, and the ability to deliver reliable service when needed.

Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing systems, reading blueprints, following procedures, and supporting on-call

Qualifications

• 4+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems.
• Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals.
• Knowledge of test equipment including a multi-meter, digital analyzer, and commissioning devices.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and review reported equipment or system malfunction.
• Diagnose, service, and repair electronic fire alarm systems and related building system products at customer sites.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and manuals to complete repairs.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install Fire & Life Safety systems from multiple manufacturers, including SimplexGrinnell.
• Read blueprints and specs to support service work.
• Provide clear communication and excellent customer service to district staff and customers.
