Job summary

Syska Hennessy Group is offering a Fire/Life Safety Summer Intern position in New York. You’ll support engineering teams, draft AutoCAD and Revit drawings, and assist with calculations and field observations while learning through our EDT-style program.

The role seeks a Mechanical engineering student in their sophomore year or higher with exposure to MEP tools, design software, and a strong teamwork ethic.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering with emphasis in Sustainability.
• Must be at a minimum, completed your second year.
• Previous engineering internship or co-op experience a plus.
• Knowledge in the latest version of MEP AutoCAD and REVIT is a plus.
• Basic knowledge in design and calculation software; MS Office Suite; IES-VE modeling a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in preparing design documentation.
• Prepare AutoCAD and Revit drawings of field surveys, system assessments.
• Assist engineers with design calculations and sizing building systems.
• Assist engineers with field investigations and construction site visits to observe.
• Attend intern education program lunch-and-learn sessions.
