Job summary

Prince George's County Fire/EMS Department is seeking Fire Inspector III, Grade H21, to enforce fire and life safety codes in new construction and renovations. The role requires reading engineering plans and coordinating with contractors, owners and the public.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Enforce applicable fire and life safety codes during new construction and renovations.
• Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications for fire systems and assemblies.
• Issue violation notices and prepare reports for administrative proceedings and court.
• Train, lead and supervise subordinate Fire Inspectors and coordinate team inspections.
• Coordinate County inspection programs and participate in meetings and trainings.
• Investigate incidents to determine code violations and assist field personnel.
