Job summary

Firetronics in Florida, NY is seeking an experienced Fire Extinguisher Service Technician to inspect, maintain, test, and replace portable extinguishers and related equipment. You will perform annual maintenance, 6-year service, recharges, hydrostatic tests, and installations while delivering quality service to customers.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience or equivalent training, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform annual maintenance and 6-year service on portable fire extinguishers.
• Perform extinguisher recharges, hydrostatic testing, and replacements.
• Disassemble extinguishers and inspect components for wear, damage, or defects.
• Replace worn or damaged parts, including tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other components.
• Clean, recharge, and service extinguishers using the appropriate agents and procedures.
• Test extinguishers to ensure they meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements.
• Install fire extinguisher cabinets, brackets, and related equipment.
• Assist with identifying customer needs and supporting the sales of fire extinguishers and related fire protection products.
• Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service while representing Firetronics in the field.
