Job summary

Century Fire Protection in Clearwater, FL is seeking a hands-on Fire Extinguisher Technician to inspect, test, recharge, and repair units. You will dismantle extinguishers, inspect components, hydro-test cylinders, and install cabinets or brackets as needed.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years related experience, and a mechanical aptitude. You will support sales, follow safety standards, and uphold regulatory requirements daily.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to read instructions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Dismantle extinguishers and examine tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects.
• Test extinguishers for conformity with legal specifications.
• Recharge extinguishers with various agents, including soda water and sulfuric acid, carbon tetrachloride, nitrogen, or patented solutions or other.
• Install cabinets and brackets to hold extinguishers and support sales activities.
