Job summary

Vance-Granville Community College is seeking a Coordinator of Fire Technology and Emergency Medical Services to plan, administer, and monitor training programs in Henderson, NC, with travel within the VGCC service area.

The role requires leadership across all program phases, collaboration with advisory boards, and ensuring compliance with state authorities and college policies; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of full-time work experience in the fire or emergency services field.
• Industry credentials: NC OEMS Paramedic Level 1 instructor; NC OSFM Level II Fire Instructor; BLS/ACLS/PALS instructor.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and coordinate instructional delivery for assigned programs.
• Supervise instructors and instruction of fire, rescue, EMS classes; monitor progress.
• Conduct evaluations; ensure staff are trained and policies followed.
• Collaborate with advisory boards and community partners to deliver training meeting industry needs.
• Recruit instructors/faculty and utilize technology for operations.
• Support student registration and recruitment efforts as appropriate.
• Maintain program compliance with accreditation, regulatory, and licensing agencies.
• Adhere to college policies and supervision structure.
• Perform other duties of similar nature as needed.
