Job summary

County of Riverside’s Fire Department seeks a Fire Communications Supervisor to lead the Emergency Command Center in Perris. You will supervise Dispatchers on an assigned shift, oversee ECC operations, and assist in ECC administration.

Qualifications

• Completion of 30 semester or 45 quarter college units from an accredited college or university.
• Three years in operating radio dispatch equipment in a 24-hour public safety dispatch office.
• One year as a Senior Fire Communications Dispatcher or equivalent.
• Possession of a valid California Driver's License.
• Knowledge of radio communications laws, dispatch procedures, and MDT/MDC systems.
• Ability to supervise staff, train, and manage ECC operations.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, assign and supervise the work of all subordinates on an assigned shift; resolve and report on disciplinary problems with staff; refer more sensitive disciplinary problems and recommend disciplinary action to management.
• Develop and implement Fire Communications Dispatcher training programs; participate in interviewing and selecting personnel.
• Review procedures and policies; update manuals and instruct staff in their use.
