Job summary

County of Riverside's Emergency Management Department seeks an Emergency Services Coordinator to monitor and improve alert and warning systems, coordinate communications, and lead training for staff and the public.

These journey-level roles require a bachelor's degree and a year in emergency management; strong organizational and public speaking skills are essential; candidates with FEMA IS-247a, PER-304, G290-291 are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; related fields preferred.
• One year in an emergency management environment with program coordination experience.
• Valid California Driver's License or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and coordinate multi-hazard emergency response.
• Develop and maintain SEMS/NIMS-aligned plans; review laws and regulations.
• Coordinate resource needs and interagency actions during incidents.
• Activate Emergency Operations Center facilities and support teams.
• Design and conduct emergency management exercises and trainings.
• Prepare reports for state/federal reimbursement applications.
• Assist in budget administration and inventory control.
• Participate in Emergency Committees and interagency coordination.
