Job summary

Ripon Consolidated Fire District is seeking a Fire Captain to supervise a fire company and oversee emergency response, training, equipment and station operations in the Ripon area. The Fire Captain will ensure readiness, performance, and safety on incidents and drills, while maintaining required certifications.

Minimum qualifications include four years of full-time firefighting experience with two years on apparatus, a high school diploma or equivalent, and California certifications (FF II,

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Four years of full-time firefighting experience with at least two years operating fire department apparatus.
  • Possession of California State Fire Marshal Firefighter II Certificate and related certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as first line supervisor and manage day-to-day operations of a fire company.
  • Provide command and safe environment on emergencies; operate as lead of one or more companies.
  • Coordinate inspections, training, and public education activities.
  • Maintain equipment readiness and pre-fire plans; participate in station maintenance.
