Job summary

Ripon Consolidated Fire District seeks a Fire Engineer to operate fire apparatus, perform EMS within certification, and support prevention and public education. The role includes vehicle maintenance, training, and possible supervision of firefighters when assigned.

Candidate must hold EMT/Paramedic credentials, CAL FIRE certifications, and a valid California driver license; strong teamwork and physical fitness are essential.

Qualifications

  • General knowledge of firefighting and medical procedures required.
  • Ability to operate fire pumps, equipment, and vehicles safely.
  • Good communication and mechanical aptitude for field work.

Responsibilities

  • Drive fire apparatus to emergencies and district activities.
  • Operate pumps and firefighting equipment at incidents.
  • Inspect and maintain vehicles and firefighting gear.
  • Provide basic or advanced life support per certification.
  • Participate in fire prevention inspections and public education.
  • Respond to hazardous materials incidents within trained scope.
  • Attend training and maintain relevant records.
  • Lead supervision over firefighters when assigned.
