Job summary

South Placer Fire District is seeking experienced firefighters with strong rescue and medical response capabilities to join our emergency services team. Responsibilities include fire suppression, incident command, and hazardous condition mitigation across 24-hour shifts and emergencies as needed.

Applicants should hold a high school diploma, CA firefighter endorsements, EMT/Paramedic certification, and extensive certifications including ICS 200, CSFM and NWCG qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age and high school graduate
• Valid CA driver's license with Firefighter endorsement and medical clearance
• BLS/CPR certification from a recognized American Heart or Red Cross program
• CA EMT or Paramedic certification or equivalent
• Hazardous Materials First Responders Operational Certificate
• ICS 200 certificate
• CSFM Rescue Systems 1 certification
• CSFM Command 1A and Management 1 certifications or equivalent
• CSFM Driver/Operator Pump or related Driver Operator certifications
• CSFM Firefighter II certification
• NWCG/CICCS Engine Boss qualification within 12 months of hire date
• 3 years of experience as a full-time Firefighter/Engineer/Captain with EMT/Paramedic designations
• Completion of South Placer Fire Engineer Task Book within 12 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise fire suppression, hazardous condition mitigation, and emergency medical treatment.
• Direct crews and assume incident command as needed.
• Size up incidents, report status, and formulate mitigation strategies.
• Drive and operate emergency apparatus and equipment.
• Perform rescues and manage multiple patient treatment priorities as situations require.
