Job summary

Pala Band of Mission Indians’ Pala Fire Department seeks a Fire Apparatus Engineer to manage operation and maintenance of fire vehicles, respond to alarms, render first aid, and support firefighting activities.

This supervisory position requires knowledge of hydraulics, pump systems, and fire safety codes; candidates should hold California EMT or Paramedic certification and a valid driver’s license. The role offers full-time employment with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of firefighting principles and strategies.
• Ability to apply hydraulic theory to pump pressure.
• Ability to render emergency first aid and life saving care.
• Experience documenting training and inspections.

Responsibilities

• Respond to alarms and drive fire apparatus.
• Operate pumping engine and draft water as needed.
• Inspect and service pumps and equipment.
• Lead and supervise in absence of Fire Captain.
• Conduct equipment and system inspections for safety compliance.
• Maintain public safety and coordinate with team.
