Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with fire science coursework.
  • Two years of municipal, county, tribal or special district fire experience in suppression and prevention.
  • Valid California Class B driver license or C with firefighter endorsement at appointment time.
  • Successful completion of California State Fire Training Driver/Operator 1A and 1B.
  • Current CPR certification and Firefighter I and II certification.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and oversee all fire apparatus and equipment.
  • Respond to fires, medical emergencies and other incidents; protect life and property.
  • Maintain vehicle and apparatus inspection records and perform minor repairs.
  • Provide information on fire prevention and conduct training and drills.
  • Possess or potentially serve as Captain on a limited basis; perform related duties as assigned.

CPR certification
Firefighter I and II certification
