Job summary

Sacramento County Airport Fire seeks a Fire Engineer who drives and operates aircraft rescue and structural apparatus, performs inspection and maintenance, and assists in firefighting and rescue at emergencies. You may provide medical aid within ALS scope when designated as Paramedic, in addition to standard firefighting duties.

Incumbents must have EMT or Paramedic certification, two years of paid firefighting experience, and OSFM Driver Operator 1A/1B; a 40-hour salary band is listed with

Qualifications

• Current EMT or Paramedic certificate/license (NS or CA EMS authority).
• Two years of full-time paid firefighting experience.
• Valid OSFM Driver Operator 1A and 1B certificate (or equivalent).
• CPAT or equivalent may be required before appointment.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate aircraft rescue firefighting and structural apparatus.
• Inspect, maintain, and minor repairs of apparatus and equipment.
• Respond to aircraft, structural, medical, HazMat emergencies; assist in firefighting and rescue.
• Provide medical aid within scope of ALS when assigned as Paramedic.
