Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire and Security Technician responsible for installing, maintaining, and servicing fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms. The role involves working with clients, office staff, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs), ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Installation & Commissioning: Install, test, and commission fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms for commercial properties.
  2. Maintenance & Service: Perform regular maintenance, servicing, and repairs, ensuring all equipment functions correctly and complies with regulations.
  3. Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions to minimize downtime.
  4. System Upgrades: Assist with upgrades and replacements, ensuring standards and client needs are met.
  5. Client Interaction: Communicate with clients for updates, system info, and technical questions.
  6. Compliance & Documentation: Ensure work complies with standards and regulations; maintain accurate records.
  7. Training & Support: Provide on-site training on system operation and troubleshooting.
  8. Emergency Response: Be available for urgent service calls to resolve issues promptly.
  9. Health & Safety: Follow all safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  1. 3-5 years of experience in fire and security systems, including fire alarms, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
  2. Solid understanding of system components, wiring, programming, and troubleshooting.
  3. Certifications such as NICET, NTS Level 2, Genetec, Bosch, Software House, Avigilon, or similar.
  4. Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  6. Strong communication skills for client and team interactions.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  8. Valid driver's license.
  9. Flexibility to work outside regular hours for emergencies.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Experience with system integration.
  • Advanced certifications in fire safety or security.
  • Experience with IP-based CCTV and networking technologies.

Pay Range

20 - 35 USD per hour (CRV Office)
