VSC Fire & Security in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Fire Alarm - Low Voltage Technician Trainee to assist with installation, service, and inspection of integrated systems under the guidance of a licensed technician. Responsibilities include interpreting directives, communicating project information, and performing tasks across fire alarms, intrusion, access control, CCTV, and related life-safety systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
• Eagerness for professional development and growth.
• Ability to pass various background checks where required.
• Valid State Driver's License with acceptable driving record for use of company vehicle.
• Desirable (but not required): experience in the construction or electrical industry.
• Competence in reading and interpreting electrical plans, drawings, schematics, and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Accurately interpret instructions and directives as assigned by supervisor.
• Effectively communicate relevant project or service information to supervisor.
• Complete work in a timely manner as outlined by supervisor.
• Effectively communicate with others including co-workers, supervisors, and job site personnel.
• Occasional use of computers, phones, email, copier and/or other office technology.
• Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Exercise a modest level of independent judgment to perform assigned duties.
• Understand and operate industry specific tools to ensure a system is installed and serviced properly.
• Assist with the installation, service, and inspection of integrated systems under supervisor guidance (fire alarm, fire suppression, access control, video surveillance, intercom, etc.).
