Job summary

VSC Fire & Security in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a Fire Alarm - Low Voltage Technician. You will plan, direct, and coordinate installation and service of Integrated Systems, including alarms, access control, CCTV, and more.

You will oversee testing, repair, and completion, while maintaining safety procedures and coordinating with team members. Requirements include at least 1 year installing commercial Integrated Systems, the ability to read electrical plans, and a valid driver's

Qualifications

• One year of experience installing commercial construction Integrated Systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and communication skills.
• Proficient in following instructions in equipment manuals and turning them into simple steps.
• Demonstrate ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision.
• Capacity to read and interpret electrical plans, drawings, schematics, and specs.
• Able to pass background checks when required.
• Reliable transportation and valid State Driver's License with a good driving record.
• May require participation in on-call rotation.
• Desirable: experience or training in one or more specialized systems.

• Conduct tests and inspections to evaluate product, service, or process performance.
• Operate industry-specific tools to ensure proper installation and/or service.
• Identify and evaluate complex problems, review information, and implement corrective action plans.
• Utilize mathematical skills for computations and problem-solving.
• Apply logic and reasoning to assess alternative solutions and approaches to problems.
• Identify measures to improve system performance.
• Respond to delays, bad weather, or emergencies at job sites.
• Investigate job site damage, accidents, or delays to ensure proper procedures are followed.
• Accurately interpret and complete assigned instructions from the supervisor.
• Complete work in a timely manner as directed by the supervisor.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, job site personnel, and vendors.
• Demonstrate autonomy in organizing, planning, and prioritizing work.
• Oversee and plan the work of others and delegate tasks.
• Plan, direct, and coordinate activities with installation and service of Integrated Systems.
• Maintain proper Risk Management and Safety procedures on all job sites per VSC.
• Participate in service and inspection process to oversee project repair, testing, and completion.
• Manage delays, emergencies, damage and/or accidents at job sites to ensure proper procedures.
