Job summary

Sciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Systems Technician with programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting capabilities. You will work with our sales and field teams to ensure sound design and seamless installation and commissioning of fire alarm solutions.

You will review layouts, program systems via laptops, produce commissioning reports per NFPA, and ensure projects meet schedule and budget while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of experience in a technician role within fire-life safety.
• Ability to program and commission mid-range fire alarm systems independently.
• Ability to terminate fire alarm control units and field equipment with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Review system layouts and coordinate with engineering, project management, and sales for project success.
• Produce field surveys and daily project logs.
• Program and commission fire alarm systems up to final customer and AHJ acceptance.
• Produce commissioning and inspection reports per NFPA.
• Troubleshoot complex issues and resolve them effectively.
• Deliver projects on schedule and within budgets.
• Program systems via laptop computers.
• Assist in inventory oversight and vehicle inventory.
• Provide guidance to other technicians and manage job progress efficiently.
• Explain system operation to customers and respond to signals.
