ECC is seeking a knowledgeable Fire Alarm System Engineer to develop accurate, competitive estimates and proposals for our Fire/Life Safety business in Lincoln, Nebraska. You will review project drawings, specifications, and customer requirements while collaborating with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure solutions are properly scoped and priced.

The role involves takeoffs, cost development, and keeping up with NFPA and NEC standards, with opportunities for NICET-certified

Qualifications

• Strong mathematical and analytical skills for developing material and labor estimates.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and fire alarm drawings and specs.
• Proficient with Excel, Outlook, and standard business applications.
• Willingness to learn ECC estimating, CRM, quoting, and project-management systems.

Responsabilités

• Review drawings, specs, bid documents, and requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, and subcontractors.
• Perform device counts and system takeoffs from drawings.
• Prepare complete scopes of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for proposals.
• Review estimates with Sales and leadership before submission.
• Stay current on fire alarm technologies, codes, and industry standards.
