Job summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a Fire Alarm / Special Hazards Designer to design fire alarm detection and special hazard systems for a range of construction projects, including clean agent, CO2, and VESDA suppression.

You will produce drawings, calculations, and schematics to support installation and commissioning, while coordinating with project teams. This role requires a technical degree or equivalent fire alarm experience, strong CAD skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of fire alarm industry experience accepted in lieu of degree.
• Strong CAD skills and proficiency with Excel and related software.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout fire alarm detection and clean agent suppression systems.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, calculations, and schematics for installation.
• Maintain project drawing files, records, and documentation tracking.
• Support project estimator with cost and change order issues.
• Plan, schedule, and manage projects while promoting safety.
