Job summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a motivated Fire Alarm Sales Executive to join our Life Safety team in Central Illinois. This role focuses on developing new business, building customer relationships, estimating projects, site visits, and delivering compliant fire alarm solutions.

The ideal candidate will have experience in fire alarm systems or life safety, with NFPA code knowledge and blueprint reading ability; NICET certification is preferred. Some travel and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of fire alarm sales preferred.
• NICET in fire alarm systems preferred.
• Experience with FIKE, Edwards and Notifier or a combination preferred.
• Technical knowledge of VESDA and clean agent systems a plus.
• Prior experience with NFPA layouts to meet code preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and build long-term relationships.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Manage several projects simultaneously with different cost components.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills; reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients and contractors both in office and job sites.
• Build and manage sales for the division.
• Determine customer needs and develop a sales strategy to convey offerings.
• Close sufficient sales to exceed plan objectives.
• Read blueprints and understand NFPA 13, 14, 20, and 72 and local codes.
• Develop ongoing relationships with customers, general contractors and end users.
• Estimate small and large projects.
• Build new business relationships and grow fire alarm business.
• Other duties as required.
