Qualifications

  • 2-5 years experience with low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and manuals.
  • Strong customer service skills and physical labor capability.

What you will do:

  • Receive service calls from Service Resource Center, including a brief description of equipment/system malfunctions
  • Contact customer representatives to ascertain equipment/system problems
  • Diagnose problems and perform service and repairs on electronic fire alarm systems and related building systems at customer sites
  • Follow troubleshooting procedures and refer to technical manuals, part manuals, change notices, and bulletins to repair equipment
  • Service, troubleshoot, and install various manufacturers' Fire & Life Safety systems, including SimplexGrinnell
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and manuals
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with staff and customers to ensure satisfaction
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding via smartphones and laptops
  • Obtain customer signatures upon service completion
  • Participate in scheduled On-call rotation
  • Assist in training or mentoring team members
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What we look for:

Required:

  • 2-5 years experience with low voltage electrical systems, including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, and Paging systems
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and manuals
  • Knowledge of test equipment, multimeters, digital analyzers, and commissioning devices
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to follow instructions and perform physical labor (lifting up to 50-70 lbs.)
  • Willingness to work in challenging positions (ladders, scaffolding, ducts, crawl spaces, ceilings)
  • Flexibility to work weekends and travel overnight if required
  • Participation in On-Call rotation
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Maintain truck inventory and adhere to safety guidelines
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background and drug tests

Preferred:

  • NICET Level II certification
  • Experience with Simplex systems
  • Electronic system experience
