Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is hiring a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician to service retail locations nationwide. The role requires a Texas license, field installation experience, and NFPA knowledge.

You will install, troubleshoot, and upgrade security systems, read blueprints, and travel up to 30% with some overnight work. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and training; a company vehicle is provided after orientation, with pay from $35 to $50 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current and Valid Texas Fire Alarm License.
• Field installation experience in security environments: Fire Alarm /Intrusion / Access Control.
• NICET certification (Preferred).
• Current/valid state required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license.
• Knowledgeable about NFPA standards (NFPA 70 and 72).
• Daytime schedule with some night shifts.
• Available to work at heights of 20'-60'.
• Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
• Experience with multiple Intrusion/Access system manufacturers is a plus.
• Desire to assist with pre-installation opportunities and design solutions.
• On-site and remote technical escalation support capability.
• Excellent customer relationship and written communication skills.
• Reliable transportation during training; company vehicle after orientation.
• Computer/laptop/smartphone proficiency; MS Office skills a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record (no DUI/DWI in 3 years).

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment for IP Video, Access Control/Intrusion, and LAN/WAN.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings and drill concrete walls as needed.
• Complete wiring, terminations, and installations to meet contractual requirements.
• Install or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels per plans.
• Mount sensors, drill holes, and access crawl spaces or attics as required.
• Ensure fire alarm systems comply with codes and pass tests.
• Adhere to safety requirements and assist with on-site schedules.
• Collaborate with team leads and project managers for timely deliveries.
• Troubleshoot new installations to meet local/national codes and insurance requirements.
