M.C. Dean, Inc. seeks a Fire Alarm Project Leader 1 with design and implementation experience in fire alarm systems for facilities and plants. You will lead diverse teams across engineering and field staff, manage budgets, schedules, and client relations, and ensure safety and compliance with IBC, NEC, NFPA codes.

The role emphasizes cost estimating, proposals, design reviews, and coordination with installation teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in applications engineering with at least 5 years in project leadership.
• B.S. Degree in Engineering and relevant field experience.
• IBC, NEC, and NFPA knowledge or willingness to ramp up in this area.
• Strong communication with customers, senior management and staff.
• Experience managing multiple contracts $500K-$3M and up to $5M annual volume.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple contracts ($500K-$3M) with a team of 5–10 and supervise labor.
• Lead fire alarm detection and suppression contracts within design-build or turnkey deals.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals for projects.
• Schedule and lead design and installation kickoff meetings.
• Plan projects to meet deadlines within budget and scope.
• Review designs for quality and manufacturability.
• Order equipment and coordinate panel fabrication and testing.
• Ensure pre-testing of systems before site delivery and install.
• Obtain permits and coordinate with AHJ and client teams.
• Monitor budgets, cash flow and profitability; track progress.
