Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Project Leader 1 with experience in design and implementation for fire alarm systems in facilities and plants.

The role requires knowledge of IBC, NEC, NFPA codes and experience in Electronic Security, Industrial Controls, Building Automation, and a drive to grow in life-safety. The ideal candidate will lead fire alarm detection projects, manage budgets, coordinate with field teams, and develop proposals while ensuring compliance with safety and quality

Qualifications

• 7+ years of applications engineering experience with at least 5 years in project leadership responsible for budget, schedule, and delivery.
• B.S. Degree in Engineering or relevant field.
• IBC, NEC, NFPA code knowledge or ability to ramp up in this area.
• Excellent communication skills to work with customers, management, and partners.
• Ability to identify and resolve business, technical, and construction issues.
• Experience managing multiple contracts from $500K-$3M and up to $5M annual volume.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple contracts $500K-$3M with engineering and field staff of 5-10 personnel.
• Lead fire alarm detection and suppression systems within design-build or turnkey contracts.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals.
• Schedule and lead design and installation kickoff meetings.
• Ensure design and fabrication quality and pre-testing prior to site delivery.
• Plan, obtain permits, and coordinate with AHJ inspections and approvals.
• Monitor budgets and ensure profitability and cash flow.
