Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm Project Leader 1 with design and implementation experience in fire alarm systems for facilities and plants.

The ideal candidate will have IBC, NEC, NFPA knowledge and experience with electronic security and building automation spaces. Responsibilities include managing contracts from $500K to $3M, leading a 5–10 person team, developing estimates, scheduling kick-offs, reviewing designs, ordering equipment, and ensuring regulatory compliance for on-time

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in applications engineering with at least 5 years in project leadership responsible for budget, schedule, and delivery.
• B.S. Degree in Engineering.
• IBC, NEC, and NFPA code knowledge or willingness to ramp up in this area.
• Excellent communication skills to work with customers, senior management and design professionals.
• Proven ability to manage multiple contracts valued $500K-$3M and up to $5M annual volume.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple contracts $500K-$3M in value with 5–10 staff and coordinate with field teams.
• Lead fire alarm detection and related systems within design-build or turnkey contracts.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals.
• Schedule and lead design and installation kick-off meetings.
• Plan project steps to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Conduct design reviews and ensure design quality for manufacture and assembly.
• Order equipment and coordinate fabrication of panels.
• Oversee pre-testing of systems prior to site delivery.
• Plan, organize and direct activities for new construction and upgrades, including AHJ approvals.
• Interpret plans and contract terms for staff and clients.
