Job summary

Johnson Controls in Saint Louis, MO seeks a service technician to diagnose, repair, and install fire alarm and related building systems at customer sites. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot, and provide top-tier customer service while supporting various safety systems.

Preferred candidates have 3+ years in the field, strong computer skills, and the ability to work flexible hours, including travel and on-call shifts. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience with fire alarm, access control, security systems.
• Must be able to read blueprints, diagrams and specifications.
• Good working knowledge of computers.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Physically capable of lifting 50–70 lbs and climbing ladders or scaffolding.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends and travel as needed.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Receive service calls and diagnose equipment/system malfunctions.
• Contact customer representative to ascertain problems.
• Diagnose and repair fire alarm systems and related building systems onsite.
• Follow troubleshooting procedures and manuals for repairs.
• Read blueprints and specifications to support repairs.
• Maintain high level of customer service and documentation.
• Participate in on-call rotations and mentor teammates.
